LORD TOM MCNALLY FORMALLY INTRODUCES
COVENTRY
LIB DEM CANDIDATES
Lord
Tom McNally, leader of the Liberal Democrats in the House
of Lords, formally introduced the Coventry Liberal Democrats
candidates this week [6 April].
In
a well attended meeting in Stoke Heath, prospective candidates
for Coventry North West, Iona Anderson; Coventry North East,
Russell Field and Coventry South, Dr Vincent McKee were
praised by the peer for their positive addresses and unique
styles. Lord McNally said: "It's refreshing to hear about
the hopes and aspirations each candidate will bring to the
city rather than just listen to negative and critical campaigning.
I am confident that all three candidates offer a real alternative
to the people of Coventry".
The
addresses given by each candidate focused on local government,
the environment and democracy with particular emphasis on
axing the council tax, having more police, scrapping student
tuition fees and supporting action on climate change.
