I would like to say thank you to the people of Coventry North West who voted for the Liberal Democrats at the General Election. We increased the number of votes for the Liberal Democrats by 4.6% with a total of 7,932, the highest number of Liberal Democrat votes polled in Coventry.

I am delighted with the results and while we may not have won, what the results show is that the party is growing in strength and we are positioning ourselves as the credible alternative to Labour. What I am particularly proud of is that we have fought a constructive and positive campaign that appeals to people’s hopes, not their fears. Our policies have been based on positive solutions.
