Time for real opposition

"Gordon Brown has managed to lead the nation into the belief that the economy is performing very well. However it is a case of selective statistics and casting the figures in a more agreeable light. What about the young families out there that have no chance of owning their own property? Consider the level of public borrowing that has been necessary to keep his economic forecast on track. We get lectured on prudence and excessive consumer borrowing, yet the government are quite happy to borrow their way to a third term in office. I believe that the Liberal Democrats is the natural choice for the young electorate. They want to see young people aspire to graduate from university without fear of 10 years worth of debt. It's time that we had a REAL opposition and voice. One that doesn't rely on negative campaigning and juvenile points scoring, focusing on the REAL issues that the electorate care about".

Why climate change is a most urgent issue

"Climate change is the most urgent issue human beings have ever faced and demands huge changes. As I scientist I read the research and I know that the life support systems of the earth are all showing signs of stress. It is imperative that we collectively respond if we wish human life to continue to be possible on earth. I don't know what parliamentary politics can do about it but could at least set an example & stop being part of the problem e.g. carbon neutral zero emissions from Palace of Westminster, & all government offices. Wouldn't that be a good start?" Thanks.
